Members of Ukrainian feminist group Femen staged protests across Europe as they called for a “topless jihad.” The demonstrations were in support of a young Tunisian activist named Amina Tyler. Last month, Tyler posted naked images of herself online, with the words “I own my body; it’s not the source of anyone’s honor” written on her bare chest. The head of Tunisia’s “Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice,” reportedly called for Tyler to be stoned to death for her putatively obscene actions, lest they lead to an epidemic. Tyler has since gone quiet, leading some to fear for her safety.
I love this commercial for really obvious reasons.
WHY HAVE I NEVER THOUGHT OF DOING THIS?!

Guys, I really need you to watch and reblog this video and any other information about what’s going on in Brasil that you can.
Brasil’s government is corrupt; they feed the tourist industry and regularly build stadiums that cost millions, even billions of dollars. Its people are starving and dying in waiting lines in hospitals. The government is doing nothing to help its people. Many people have been kicked out of their homes to make room for parking lots for stadiums, and they’ve even driven native people out of a historic building that was their home to make room for a museum for the olympic committee. Brasil is tired of its government doing nothing to help them, and their peaceful protests are met with violence.
A very good friend of mine is from and lives in Rio, and he has asked that I help spread the word. Please reblog this and share any information that you can. Brasil needs the world to watch. And please, if you plan on going to the world cup or to the olympics or know someone who is, DON’T.
Mental health break: To promote summer reading, a group of students teamed up with the Seattle Public Library and built the world’s largest domino chain made of books. It took 2,131 books, 27 volunteers, and 112 slices of pizza.
The loveliest thing since this booktastic stop-motion rainbow.
